For any external construction please email detailed plans to the Island Grove Approval Committee at igra02539@gmail.com. Construction would include full houses, additions, decks, swimming pools, garages and guest houses. Island Grove does have written guidelines as listed the document entitled “Island Grove Approval Committee Island Grove Residents Association Approval Committee Rules as of April 26, 1979”. However, the document is outdated and many of the listed guidelines are no longer required. So although we encourage residents to read this document, available here on the website, we ask residents to look to the current Approval Committee for guidance and to answer any questions residents might have. Residents also need to file and get a construction permit from the Town of Edgartown Building Department.

Mail delivery to Island Grove is handled by the Vineyard Haven Post Office.
Requests for Island Grove mailboxes should be made to the Postmaster or Assistant Postmaster in Vineyard Haven. If there are no available mailboxes in Island Grove, the Trustees should be informed so they can work on adding additional mailboxes. The Trustees ask that residents only request mailboxes in Island Grove if they have a legitimate need for one.

First, you should talk to your neighbor and politely ask them to quiet down. If that does not work, For disturbances such as noise from parties or swimming pool utilization, after 10PM, call the Edgartown Police.
For continuous noise issues, you can email the Trustees at igra02539@gmail.com and we will communicate with the resident in question if we agree the complaint is warranted.
For construction noise issues, the Town of Edgartown rules are no construction noise between 8PM and 7AM Monday through Saturday and none on Sunday. Residents can first inform the Island Grove Trustees of the problem and the Trustees will communicate with the resident in question. If the resident does not comply, then the Police or Building Department can be notified. Any excessive construction noise between 8PM and 7AM can be reported to the Police or the Building Department.
